Formatting your transaction-level data file

Formatting your transaction-level data file

A transaction-level data file is used to pull in all of your company's financial transactions / ledger entries over a period of time of your choosing.  This can be used if you are not using on of our supported automated connection methods (currently Xero).  You must be on a Carbon Full account to access this feature.

File format

Your uploaded file needs to be an Excel (XLS or XLSX) file

Fields

The document must have the following fields:

Record NoDateSupplier NameAmountCurrencyCategory

Record No: A unique per row ID for that transaction.    It can include numbers, letters and characters. This value should always connect to one and only one transaction in your ledger.  If you re-export your data from your accounting system, the same record number for that item should be used again so we can overwrite the old value with the new value.

Date:
Date of transaction.  Must be in the format yyyy-mm-dd, for example 2001-01-28

Supplier Name: Name of your supplier

Amount: Transaction / ledger entry amount

Currency: Currency identifier (eg: USD, GBP, EUR) of that transaction / ledger entry.   Supported values are: [AUD,CAD,CHF,CYP,CZK,DKK,EEK,EUR,GBP,HKD,HUF,ISK,JPY,KRW,LTL,LVL,MTL,NOK,NZD,PLN,ROL,SEK,SGD,SIT,SKK,TRL,ZAR,USD]

Category: OPTIONAL An optional category of the transaction, format and values of your choosing
